Itokim - Recorded LIVE in the studio

Between The Visible And The Invisible Remixed

Itokim 'Between Visible And Invisible' gets remixed by Denmark's Secret Groovers, Sapporo's Birdcage, Tokyo's Tomi Chair and UK's Eight Minus Eight. You can now pre-order "Between The Visible And The Invisible Remixed" from Juno Download at the following link: http://www.junodownload.com/products/1428805-02.htm

Toyko's Itokim has taken 2009 by storm recording for several different labels, but his work for Nice & Nasty is peerless and some of the most sublime melodic techno the world has heard. Itokim fuses the soul of Detroit with the melody of Northern European techno and delivers a sound that is unique and enjoyed by Techno and House DJs. There are elements of Deep House, Acid House, Detroit Techno, Minimal Techno and even a smidgen of Progressive. Think Chymera, Djinxx, Fabrice Lig and Steve Rachmad but then think again as Itokim seems to add a touch of something the others lack. Maybe its a Japanese thing, who knows, but it works and it works well. Between The Visible And Invisible was originally released on Nice & Nasty's album 15 and the remixes come courtesy of his fellow Japanese warriors of techno Tomi Chair and Birdcage, Denmark's Secret Groovers and the UK's Eight Minus Eight and the punter is offered four distinctly different sounds and will be both surprised and pleased.

Laurent Garnier - been playing the Tomy Chair remx for a while now Great track Hernan Cattaneo - very good package of tracks Santiago Salazar - Thanks for this promo. I really love the dark/mysterious feel of Birdcage remix. Franco Cangelli - thanks, the original is nice and the matt chester remix is a lovely deep detroit rework but the pick for me here is the Birdcage remix, very intense with some idm influences solid stuff! Edwin James - NANO66 is a very impressive collection of different remixes. I am impressed

New remixes coming up

Apart from upcoming releases for Organica Music Labworks, Seventh Sign and Melodika Recordings, there's plenty of remixes coming up this summer and fall; The Parallel 'Sleepwalker', Mark O'Sullivan 'Within You', Mick Chillage 'Final Storm', Vakama 'Xenon', and Stefano Vozza '20'.

The Parallel is arguably Ireland's greatest techno find of 2008/09. Already a regular of Dave Clarke's WHite Noise and finding his demos in charts from the World's premier DJs, The Parallel has had a solid release schedule and remix output and the Sleepwalker EP was his debut with Nice & Nasty whilst the Sleepwalker remixes is his debut reinterpretations. Remixes courtesy of UK's Eight Minus Eight, Austria's Martin Mueller and Japan's Itokim provide an interesting re-evaluation of the soul of The Parallel. Beatless ambiance from 8 - 8; Proper Chicago style funky techno from Mueller' and two versions from Itokim that explore the depth, the melody and the soul. Last year The Parallel was one to watch, right now he is the one!

The Final Storm is the fourth in the series of remix packs taken from the wonderful 'Departure EP' by Mick Chillage. Since the release of the Departure EP in January 2009, Mick Chillage star has been on the rise and July 2009 sees him release remixes of Final Storm and also a CD on Ireland's Psychonavigation records.Final Storm is a sublime piece of electronica or techno - call it what you will - but it traverses the deep soulful techno of Detroit with the strange spacey electronica of the UK and Mick via Nice & Nasty has gather 3 super remixers to push the tune farther into space. Simeon Bowring aka Pentatonik needs little introduction as an award winning music maker has been at the forefront of British techno alongside Black Dog, Plaid, FSOL and Luke Slater whilst Channel 73 are new names but will soon be among the likes of Richard James, Bowring and others whilst Itokim is Nice & Nasty's eastern delight and adds a certain Japanese efficiency to it all. Mick's original version is deep house meets ambient techno and whilst Channel 73 keeps it very chiiled and even abstract, Itokim delivers the perfect DJ version with a superb 4/4 beat and arguably one of the best Hi Tech Soul trax of 2009.

Mick Chillage - Final Storm (Itokim's vision)

Vakama's deadly Xenon gets the remix treatment from Nice & Nasty's finest - Itokim and The Parallel whilst Arrival gets tweaked by newcomer David B Flex and Eight Minus Eight aka Kenton Duffield Vakama's unique tech-house sound that borders on the Detroit techno and Berlin minimal. Remixes of his sound throw up some interesting pieces as his sound gets the funky disco treatment by Itokim and the fierce ruling funk of The Parallel, the deep Chicago style of David B Flex and the fusion of British Progressive House and Acid Rave from Eight Minus Eight. Conor Dalton is a young Northern Irish producer based in Scotland. His music is well received all over northern Europe, the American underground and Japan and these remixes offer Detroit, Chicago, NYC, Berlin, Sheffield, Manchester and Tokyo influences. It is by far a coming of age for Vakama and the Variance EP Remixed is a deadly way to finish of the Summer with one more release and head into Autumn and Winter with the acclaim and maturity of a developing producer. This release affords the Nice & Nasty family a pivotal tole in Vakama's development into one of the UK and Ireland's finest producers of electronic dance music. Enjoy!!!

Vakama - Xenon (Itokim remix)

Third and final installment of 20 - the Detroit techno inspired club master piece from Stefano Vozza. The original appeared on DXR Vol One and two remix packs later the lttle tune has gathered serious esteem within the Irish club scene - including remixes by Noraj Cue, Brian Taaffe, Scott Curtis, Martin Mueller and now it is been transformed by Secret Groovers (Denmark), Andrew Duke (Canada), Jay Riordan (Dublin) and Itokim (Japan). Adding to the Dutch, Austrian, British and other Irish remixes 20 is arguably DXR's most cosmopolitan release. 20 Version 3.0 is by far the truest to the original Detroit inspired tune and all mixes are strictly for the more discerning dancefloor and lead the way for brand new original music from Stefano later in 2009.

"Japan's Itokim releases his debut on Nice & Nasty - a sublime 3 track EP full of melody and depth. Itokim like many of his Japanese peers pays hamge to the innovators of Detroit; the European Techno Soul renaissance; and pure good ol synth sound. This is techno. It is melodic, it is deep, it is also groovy. Itokim is fast becoming of force on the global techno scene after a solid upbringing in the world of human and technological wonder that is Tokyo, Japan."
